When Your faith is Being Put to the Test

It is one thing to say we have faith in God when everything is going well, but what do we do when the table is turned? Do we go around blaming God for all the chaos in our lives, or do we trust Him to do what He’s promised to do? Remember that He promised to be with us through the good times and the bad times; through thick and thin.  He said, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea,  I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).

Sometimes the evidences around us make it seemed like God has forgotten us, but He hasn’t.  He is a God of His words, so we need not fear.  Once we do what He expects of us and stay under His covering, we will be safe.  However, if He chose to do otherwise, we must remember that He possesses unlimited wisdom and power and will keep our interest at heart.  Job says, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him” (Job 13:15).  If we who are called by His name is fearing this pandemic, what should those who have no relationship with God do? We have to be strong in this time and believe that God will protect us from all evil. The world is depending on us.

It is unwise to think that after God equipped us with knowledge of the Corona virus that we become careless.  He expecting us to apply wisdom.  If the Children of Israel came from under the covering of the blood, their firstborns too would have been killed. We must be wise, but not fearful.  Fear is the enemy’s weapon against us.

This is a time to be our brother’s keeper, not just through lip service, but to show others that we care. The economy will be at its worse; people will be loosing their jobs, some will be homeless; some will be hungry. Life will be hard, so we must be there for each other.  Now is the time for the Church to be the Church.  Now is the time to stand firm no matter what. Stay safe.

The Word For The Day — “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this...

You Are Highly Favored

Presently there are a lot of noise around you. The bills to be paid, the sickness that you are fighting, the relationship that is crumbling, your children who are following the wrong crowd and the list goes on and on and on.  Time is running and you are stuck in the same place with no way of escape. Many times you’ve cried, “Oh Lord, how long” and it seems to have been fallen on deaf ear. But don’t get discouraged. You are stuck in your corner for a reason and whether you want to accept it or not, you are highly favored. Though it seemed nothing is happening, hold on and don’t give up. Don’t allow the noise to drown the voice of God telling you to hold on.  If God should ever show you how busy heaven is, putting everything in place to take you from the noise around you, to a place where you will shine like the stars above, you would bear all the pain you are now experiencing, knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel. The darkness around you will soon to be dispelled to show you the glory that has been prepared for you. In your moments of despair, cheer up. It’s almost over. When you think it’s the end of you, God will restore you. When you think all is lost, God will renew your strength and give you the blessings he’d promised you. Remember his words will never return unto him void, and whatever he says he is going to, you can be assured that it will be done. You are placed where you are for a reason. Keep your eyes on God.

Everything that Esther went through, was preparing her for the palace. The loss of her parents that caused her to live with her uncle Mordecai; everything was being done for a reason. Mordecai was placed in that strategic location for a reason. God intended him to hear the plot against the king. Not only that, but God knew he could have trusted Mordecai to make it known to the king. Can God trust you to do the right thing no matter the cost? Can he trust you to remain faithful despite your fear of the future? Keep your eyes on him; do what he expects of you even when it  seem unfair to you. He will bring you victory you well deserved, for you are highly favored. God bless you

Be Careful What You Sow

wp-1463152560729.jpg

Life is full of uncertainties. Today everything seems to be going well, tomorrow everything falls apart. Today it would appear you have everything in control, tomorrow only chaos. Life is unpredictable, hence, you can’t take things for granted. What you have today may be gone tomorrow and it doesn’t matter how secure you may think you are. Since this is the state of life, pay attention to what you do today and how you treat others. Don’t take anything or anyone for granted. Treat others the way you want to be treated. The seed you sow is the seed you will reap. If you don’t respect others, don’t expect others to respect you. If you don’t cherish the love you have don’t expect to keep it forever. A nurtured love stays alive; treat it with contempt and you’ll lose it in a flash. Don’t sow corn and expect to reap peas. What you sow is what you will reap. Give love, and you’ll get back love; sow hatred and that’s exactly what you will get back. The energy you send out, is the energy that will be returned to you. That is why a negative person will reap nothing but negativity, while on the other hand, a positive person will reap positivity. You can decide what you want to attract in life, by sowing the seed that produces your desired outcome. Pay little attention towards your relationship and very soon, you may have none. Pay little attention to the quality work you produce, and very soon you will be out without a job; pay little attention to your children and very soon, you will have a monster to deal with. More disastrous than ever, pay little attention to your relationship with God, and very soon a God who once was your heartbeat, will seem distance away.

Don’t take life for granted. Live it one day at a time, giving your best at all times. Don’t take on tomorrow’s problem today; today has its own problems. Deal with matters a step at a time. Do first things first. Handle your relationships with care, for relationships are fragile. Stop assuming things for many times our assumptions are inaccurate. Never make a decision based on such. Assumptions will create havoc in a relationship, therefore, until you know the facts, don’t take an action or give a reaction. Always know that truth will prevail, and anything done in darkness will be revealed in the light. Let God’s love reigns in your heart. Upon it stands love for humanity. So today, give love and love you will receive in overflow. God bless you.

It Is Your Season

There is season for everything. “A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;” (Eccles.3:2-4) This is your season. Your Springtime is here. It is time to put your winter gears away. The time you have been longing for is here, so why are you still dressed in the heavy coat of life? Why are you still sitting down doing nothing when God has already opened the door for you? You need to get up from where you are and walk into your blessings. Stop allowing fear and doubt to block your view of the little heaven God has prepared for you. It is time to arise, take up your bed and walk. Too long are you in the same position. Get up and do something. Be like Ester, “If I perish, I perish, but I will sit here no longer. I’m going to claim my blessings. Nothing nor no one will keep me down any longer for my God has already paved the way for me.”

It is time to start praising God. The devil will realize that you mean business. He will begin to loose the stronghold he has on your life all this while. When negativity creeps in, counteract it with the power of the word. When the thought comes that things will never get better, plow it up and through in the blazing fire of word of God. God promised to prosper you, so who is the devil to tell you otherwise? Whose report will you adhere to: God or the enemy? If you refuse to take your leap now, then you are simply telling God you don’t trust him. It is time for you to arise. God is patiently waiting for you to obey his instructions to walk. Today is your day. This is your moment. Tomorrow is not promised. Start now. It is your season.

Celebrate Your Victory

According to people’s prediction, you should have been dead and gone. Some say that you would come to nothing. Some say your life would never get better. But look at you today! You have reasons to celebrate. God took you from rags to riches. You were once an alien, but now you are a part of the Royal family. He took off the messy garments you wore, and dressed you in pearls. Now you are known for your iridescence, radiance and natural beauty. You can walk with your head held high. Look at you!
Your Father is rich in houses and lands, and will supply your needs accordingly. So even sometimes when you don’t know where your next meal is coming from, you don’t have to sell yourself short, for your Father will make a way where there seems to be no way. Celebrate!!!

Sickness takes over your body, but you don’t have to get bent out of shape, thinking it’s the end of you for there is a balm in Gilead. Your Father has the power to restore your health, and make it better than it was before. As a baby, people thought I was going to die, but look at what God has done. I don’t know about you; but I have reasons to celebrate no matter where I am in life. Look where He has taken you from. He protected you day and night. The devil tried several times and failed, because you are the apple of God’s eyes. Paul says “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” If it were only in this life we have hope, we would be men most miserable.

So, don’t you think you have reasons to celebrate? Whether a Hillary or a Donald Trump, your Father is in control and no harm will befall you unless your Father permits it, and if He does, it’s for your good. So take that look off your face and celebrate. Don’t ever allow Satan to see your fears. Play your musical instruments like the Children of Israel, for the battle is not yours; it is God’s, therefore, victory is guaranteed, so come on let’s celebrate!!!

Change Your Location

image

The story is told in Luke 19:1-10 of Zaccheus, the chief among the publicans who wanted to see Jesus. He was small in stature, which along with the press, prevented him from seeing Jesus. This desire was so great that Zaccheus climbed into a sycamore tree. When Jesus came to the place he saw Zaccheus and told him to make haste and come down for he had plans to eat at his house. What if Zaccheus had used his stature and the press as excuses not to change his location? He probably would not have seen Jesus at all.

Changing your location means to get up from where you are and try something new. It means getting out of your comfort zone and reaching towards the change you want to initiate. If for years you are sitting in the same position and nothing seems to be happening, then it’s time to change your location.

A few years ago when I decided to come to the United States, the decision was certainly not an easy one, but it was a change that was highly necessary and I made it in spite of the uncertainties.

For too long you are sitting down in that unfulfilled job that is hardly meeting your financial obligations.
For too long you are in that abusive relationship that is depleting your self esteem and self-respect.
For too long you have been procrastinating going to college, using your financial situation as an excuse.
For a long time you have been experiencing spiritual malnourishment, and is slowly losing the peace of God in your life. It is time to take up the challenge to move to a new location.

Change is sometimes the hardest to influence. Why? Because …
1. of fear of the unknown.
2. Change is hard.
3. It takes courage
4. It means giving up a part of you.
Judith Jamison says, “ If I’m dissatisfied with something or not accomplishing  what I want to, the first words that come out of my mouth are, ‘I need a change’”

I recently read the story of a man who was employed by a Duke and a Duchess. One day he was called in to speak to his employer who asked him how long he was with them. “About 30 years, Your Grace,” he replied. “As I recall you were employed to look after the dog,” she said, “Yes, Your Grace.”  “James, that dog died 27 years ago,” said the Duchess. “Yes, Your Grace,” said James, “What would you like me to do now?”
Many of us sit down waiting for somebody to tell us it is time to change our location; but we need to be able to recognize the need for a change and take the initiative to make that change.

Many Jamaicans, who came to the United States and lived in Brooklyn for a few years, have become so attached that they don’t feel the need to go anywhere else to live in spite of the negative course of their lives. But change is sometimes necessary if you want to experience the blessings of God on your life.
Hence, get up from where you are and move in the direction of your blessings.

Many Things We Will Never Understand

653029f90576a6bb0d31859284332ac6

Because of our limited understanding, it is impossible for us to know everything. The things of God are sometimes hard to comprehend; we can’t understand why things are the way they are, or why we ended  up in the position we are in. But God who posesses infinite wisdom and understanding, knows why he allows these things to happen. That is why it is important to continue to put our trust in him, and as time goes by, He will reveal what we ought to know.

God’s love for us is unconditional, and He will do nothing to harm us. Therefore, no matter how dark your situation is, never doubt yhat God is in it with you. He will provide you the strength, courage and wisdom to go through. So, though you may not understand, hold on to the God’s unconditional love.

Don’t be deceived by your circumstances. They were not meant to destroy you, but rather to grow you. James 1:3 -4 “My brethren, count it all joy when he fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

Stay True To Your Purpose

image

Once you have discovered God’s will and purpose for your life, stay true to it. Do not allow anyone to distract you, or to talk you out of it. Stay focus. Follow your intuition in walking this path, for no one has ever walked it before you. You are unique in every way. Learn to trust yourself. If something doesn’t feel right, then it probably isn’t. God sometimes speak to us in this manner. Take heed. You may have to let go of friendships you’ve had for a life time. The simple rule is, if they don’t inspire you; if they are going to tell you can’t or that you are wasting your time, it is time o part. Your company should help you to be a better person, so if they can’t help you to live with integrity, honesty, openness, and courage, then let them go. God will put the right people in your life.

In instructing Abraham to move towards his purpose, God told him in Gen. 12:1-3, “….Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you”.

Look towards God for your instructions and once you are clear about your assignment, go. The carnal minded man will never understand what God is doing in your life. Amidst everything, stay true to your purpose.

Life Goes On

image

Don’t get bent out of shape when things don’t go the way you expected them to go. You can make all the plans you can, meet all the people you hope to meet in your life time, but it is God who ordered your steps. It’s God who allowed things to happen.  Things will end; people will change; but life goes on.

Don’t become discouraged and think it’s the end when someone walked out of your life, or the man or woman that you once loved, has become a monster and a nightmare in your life. That will come to an end, but not life; life goes on. God will help you to pick up the broken pieces and put them back together. Cry as much as you want to. That’s OK. But don’t you ever think that it’s the end. The word of God says,”My grace is sufficient for you”. You have within you a strength that you would not have discovered, had you not been through this experience. The songwriter penned, “Through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus and I’ve learned to trust in God. Keeping BELIEVING, keep trusting, keep hoping. Life goes on.
